At The Edge

Sitting at the very tip of the cliff is the main temple shrine. The vast ocean below stretches towards an endless horizon.

Homage

Dressed in traditional Balinese wear, pilgrims make their way up the temple to pay homage.

Above All

A temple shrine illustrating authentic religious architecture. Overlooking the surrounding forest, these shrines are scattered throughout the temple.

Balinese Flora

Out in the open temple grounds, trees like this flourish under clear blue sunny skies.

Holy Grounds

Facing the ocean, on the edge of a cliff, polluted with snatching monkeys, this exquisite religious site deserves a whole afternoon.

Indian beauties? Or drama mamas?

Sole Survivor

Shrouded in mist, Lucky Temple was the only temple to survive the 1963 eruption.

The Perfect View

Breathing in clouds, looking at the world below, earth and ash on my feet. Bali heaven so they say.

Shadow Trail

With a feet-wide trail leading to the crater and gravel shuffling through my sandals, excitement and fear lingered through every cell in my body. One slip meant a long roll downhill.

Listening To Silence

Sunrise at the summit of Bali's highest volcano. One of the most inspiring moments of my life.

Tiny Dancer

We were so lucky to walk into the temple grounds during a traditional dance class. One of many adorable tiny dancers.

Temple Favourite

After living in a city and experiencing 4 different cultures all my life, Balinese culture seems so unique with their temples reflecting tremendous novelty.

A Beautiful Day

Breeze whistling, trees swaying, people smiling. Just another magical day in Bali.

The Tropics

I took this shot in our Komala Indah guesthouse garden area. Although it looks like a pond, my camera sits on the edge of a metre wide stone basin.

Coconut Dump

What can't be seen is the dumping ground these coconut trees are growing in. Ugly Nutty.
